Self Rescue Workshop

Are you prepared for the unexpected?
On a rock face, the line between a beautiful experience and a difficult situation can be very thin.
The Self-Rescue Seminar is designed to give you the knowledge and calm mindset you need to manage an accident or technical problem, using only the equipment you already carry.
This workshop is ideal for:
- Climbers who want to move safely on multi-pitch routes
- Graduates of beginner climbing courses looking to take their next step onto big walls
- Aspiring instructors who want to refresh and update their skills
The training is mainly hands-on and includes:
- Risk Assessment: How to prevent mistakes before they happen
- Rope Ascending Techniques: Use of mechanical devices and improvised knots (Prusik, etc.)
- Passing a Knot during ascent and descent
- Rescuing an Injured Partner: How to release the belay system and reach your partner
- Building Haul Systems: Mechanical advantage systems for lifting loads or an injured climber
- Safe Retreat: Techniques for backing off and abandoning a route safely
- Crisis Psychology: Staying calm and making decisions under pressure

Basic knowledge of knots and belaying techniques required - Equipment: Provided by the school or personal gear
