Go from single pitch to multi pitch

This seminar is designed for climbers who are proficient in single-pitch rock climbing and wish to become familiar with multi-pitch climbing. The course covers the fundamentals required for climbing bolted (sport) multi-pitch routes.

Prerequisites
The seminar is aimed at climbers who are competent and autonomous in single-pitch rock climbing. Participants must know how to tie in unassisted, belay a lead climber, clip the rope, manage anchors with carabiners or rings, and rappel (abseil) using a tube-style device.

Prior knowledge of multi-pitch procedures is desirable but not required.
Required level: 5a lead in single-pitch sport climbing.

Course Content
The seminar is divided into 4 modules:

• Preparation: Planning and organizing a multi-pitch climb.

• The Ascent: Actions required before and during the climb.

• Rappelling: Preparation and execution of consecutive rappels to retreat from a multi-pitch route.

• Rescue: Self-rescue manoeuvres and scenarios on the rock face.Required Personal Equipment (Any  shortages can be covered upon request):
  • Harness
  • Helmet
  • Climbing shoes
  • Belay device (Reverso or similar)
  • 6 quickdraws
  • Food + water for one day
  • Windproof/Waterproof jacket
  • Pocket knife, headlamp
  • 30-50 lt backpack
  • 3 sewn slings (16mm, 60cm)
  • Two 6mm prusik cords (1.70m)
  • 3 locking carabiners (2 HMS type, 1 D-shape)

Dates: December 19-20, 2026

Duration: 2 days

Participants: 2-6 people.

Location: Attica and Corinthos (day trips).

Cost: €200 + VAT. Transportation expenses are covered by the participants.
