Workshop Purpose
An intensive and comprehensive workshop covering the entire process of developping climbing areas — from theory and historical background in Greece, to practical application and real-world route development and maintenance.

What you’ll Learn
Materials & Technology:
Properties and strength of anchors (mechanical and chemical bolts), EN/UIAA standards, and use of specialized equipment (drills, static ropes, descent and ascent systems).
Field Techniques:
Bolt placement tactics on rock, belay building, rope fixing, and use of ASAP systems / jumaring.
Ethics & Responsibility:
Historical overview, climbing ethics principles (UIAA “To Bolt or Not to Bolt”), legal considerations, and environmental restrictions.
Practical Application:
Cleaning, line preparation, route bolting, grading, and publication of real new routes , as well as maintenance of existing ones.
