Dimitris Daskalakis

INSTRUCTOR

Dimitris’ relationship with the mountains and rock climbing started at the age of twenty-four. Very soon, he was captivated by a passion for long, adventurous climbs in the mountains. After graduating from the School of Physical Education and Sport Science in 2008, he moved to Switzerland, near the Alps, where he stayed until 2020. There, he completed several significant ascents on some of the biggest alpine faces, such as the Eiger, the Petite Dru, the south face of Mont Blanc, and others.

Upon returning to Greece, he completed his training and obtained a certification as a climbing instructor from the Hellenic Federation of Mountaineering and Climbing (EOOA), as well as certification as a rock climbing coach from the General Secretariat of Sports. At the same time, he contributed to the development of winter climbing in Greece by establishing many new routes, participating as an instructor at the Federal Alpine Training Center for Youth, and by training dozens of beginner and advanced climbers through rock climbing and mountaineering schools of all levels.

Throughout these years, he has worked as a physical education teacher in schools, as well as an industrial rope access technician (IRATA Level II) and as a working at height instructor. He remains active today both in the field of education and, above all, as a dedicated climber and mountaineer.
